TGE Team’s Friday Mix - 20.0712
Tracks of the week straight from the TGE’s team stereo!
Angela Stephenson - The Ends - Are You Really From The Ends - Catchy garage tune this time
Kat Morris - Half Moon Run - Full Circle - Following their brilliant show at The Wilmington Arms earlier this week. I had to fight Kev for this track :)
Carolyn Bates - Deap Vally - Gonna make my own money
Natasha Haddad - My Track of the week is Danny Brown in this interview. If you didn’t get tickets to the XOYO show tonight, you can watch him on Boiler Room before the show - that’s 7-10:30pm tonight
Brett Pracownik - Soundgarden - Pretty Noose - A highlight from last weeks Hyde Park show.
Kevin Moore - Eagulls - Coffin - Lead track off Eagull’s new EP is as brutal and abrasive as we’ve come to expect for this Leeds 5-piece. Anyone down at their Old Blue Last show yesterday got a royal treat. More please!
Michelle Ronquillo - florence & the machine - spectrum (maya jane coles mix) - Spectrum is another epic Florence tune and the collaboration with Maya Jane Coles is a masterstroke. We are definitely shining even without sun.

Eagulls Less than two years old, Eagulls are still in the honeymoon period of their career, although you wouldn’t think it. They have already supported Iceage, Fucked Up and Hot Snakes on tour and are lined up to support The History of Apple Pie for the series of HMV Next Big Thing gigs on the12th of Feb. Although still unsigned and without a debut album under their belt they have already had comparisons to Wire and PIL. It’s easy to see why these comparisons have been made with Eagulls catchy guitar riffs and typically British lyrics as seen in their debut single ‘Council Flat Blues’. However there is a rawness here and a clear kick in the face to all those critics who seem to be determined to prove to the British public that guitar music is dead.
